Are you looking for the best hiking trails in Colorado, but don’t know where to start?

You’ve come to the right place.

Here, we’re listing 5 of our all-time favorite Colorado hiking trails.

Hiking isn’t just fun, it also offers numerous mental and physical health benefits.

Whether you’re from the area or heading there on vacation, make sure you get the most out of the natural beauty of the state by going for a hike on these trails.

1. North Table Mountain

This is a wonderful Denver trail that’s about 6 miles long. It’s perfect for those that enjoy stunning mountain views

If you like to take pictures on your hike, we think that the Lichen Peak is the perfect place for a snap! Dogs are welcome on this hike, so feel free to bring your four-legged friends along.

Keep your eye out for the Golden Eagle and the rare Red-Tailed Hawk!

2. The White Ranch Park

Most of these trails are ideal for more experienced hikers, but this park has a few easier/beginner trails as well.

It’s close to both Denver and Golden, which makes it a popular hike. Still, there is usually plenty of parking.

It’s a great place to spend an entire day, as it has about 20 miles worth of trail!

Keep in mind that this is a trail that sometimes allows horseback riders, so you may see some beautiful horses and riders while hiking.

Be sure to look for Peregrine Falcons, which appear frequently on this trail.

3. Lair O’ the Bear

First of all, this is a popular place because of it’s amazing name.

You’ll find this trail right outside the town of Morrison, Colorado. It’s a great trail for those that want to relax, catch up with friends, and even have a snack!

There are tons of picnic tables and barbeques along the way. It’s great for children, as most of the trail is super flat.

4. Mount Galbraith

If you’re in the mood for a quick hike, the trails of Mount Galbraith Park are your best bet.

However, be warned: just because the hike is only about 4 miles long, it’s also pretty tough!

You’ll be walking uphill for most of the time.

Still, the strenuous workout is worth it. There are gorgeous views of the cities of Golden and Denver that you can only get from the top of this mountain.

5. Marshall Mesa Trailhead

This is one of the best hiking trails in Colorado to see wildlife, especially if you enjoy birding.

It’s a few minutes outside of Boulder, and only about a half hour drive away from Denver.

We especially love the incredible views of the Flatirons it offers. It also connects to lots of other different hiking trails, meaning you can make your hike as long or short as you want.

We recommend this trail for beginner hikers, or those looking for a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
